The Loudoun County Fire Marshal's Office arrested a woman on Tuesday who was believed to have been selling fireworks out of a neighborhood ice cream truck.
The fireworks being sold appear to be similar to those that were involved in the injuries sustained by an 8-year-old child on June 30 in the Cascades area. The incident resulted in second-degree burns covering 45 percent of the child's upper body and arms. It was reported by witnesses that the fireworks the child was holding ignited his shirt.

A woman was arrested Tuesday for selling fireworks out of a neighborhood ice cream truck.
The child was taken to the burn unit at Children's Hospital in D.C. from the area of Potomac View Road near Palisades Parkway to be treated for his injuries.
So far, several criminal charges have been issued against the woman for violations including possessing and selling illegal fireworks, selling fireworks without a permit, and selling fireworks on public property. However, the summons has not yet been filed, said Mary L. Maguire, the public information officer for Loudoun County Fire and Rescue Services, so there may be additional charges and information yet to be released.
Each charge is classified as a Class 1 misdemeanor, the penalty for which ranges from a fine of $2,500.00 and up to 12 months in jail.
Loudoun County Fire Rescue Services is continuing their investigation into the case.

The picture show's sparklers. Are we talking about sparklers!? Why are the reports on this so vague? It is very sad about the boy, but what happened? Was the boy sitting in the middle of the street with a blowtorch and a 4 shot mortar or was he waving a sparkler around and accidently set his shirt on fire?

They're vague because the "LoudounExtra.com staff" has no journalism experience. Blogging is not a replacement for journalism.

I think its probably all part of the yearly fear fest. We must all understand that the simple act of lighting a snake could cause all children in the general vicinity to spontaneously combust.

Linked Up in Loudoun links to Greener Loudoun's commandments for an eco-friendly Fourth, and dictates no fireworks at all--they are very environmentally unfriendly as well as "unhealthily noisy".
Gather 'round the soy candles and use your imagination, if you have time after sorting and composting your (non-grilled) remains from the party.
VERY entertaining link!
